I promised earlier this week to take a look at DYSL.OB’s first quarter 2007 results, so let’s take the weekend pause to try to figure out what the implications of the numbers are. In order to take a look at the results with historical comparison, I’ve put them in a chart for easier comparison:

Today was a pretty quiet day for the market, in spite of the slew of data that came out. I’m going to try to give a brief summary of the important data points, and then go through my portfolio.

Today was a day of generally weak economic data. Unemployment claims came in far higher than expected, and the labor market appears to be weakening. However, claims were most likely influenced by continued auto sector weakness, so don’t put too much weight […]

Today was a very solid day for the general markets. The market rallied strongly on the heels of Bernanke’s comments that inflation was in check, with the Dow surging to an all-time high and the Nasdaq closing up 1.2% to within striking distance of its all time high. I think that the stock market has found a comfort zone with Bernanke’s comments, and we should see the rally continue. As I said earlier, I am still in […]

NTRZ and OPBL are both trading in lighter volume in the early going here, but more interesting to me, they haven’t even made an attempt to sell off. Both stocks are in ’standoff’ mode here, as investors are just watching their screens and waiting to see who pulls the trigger first. My sense is that someone is going to take a big block buy, and that could start further runs today. Either way, both are looking solid.

The other big news […]

Obviously, today was an outstanding day for my portfolio. In fact, the recent performance of my picks has been pretty amazing, and has exceeded even my high expectations. So at this point, it is probably best to take a quick moment to remind everyone that the stock market is not always as kind as it has been in the past four weeks. While I have every intention of continuing to outperform the market, even I recognize that the 20% gain […]

Last Monday, I wrote about my view that the market was likely range bound over the near term. The last two days worth of trading have served to mostly confirm this sentiment, as trading has been generally rather slow. Although the indices are drifting higher, there is no real conviction behind the market right now. Eventually something will have to give one way or the other, and that will probably be determined by interest rates. For now, however, stocks look […]

I’m glad to get the Fed out of the way here. No surprises again, but people were on hold so far this week in anticipation of the Fed meeting. With the Fed out of the way, now we can finally decide where this market is going. My impression is that its going moderately higher, but trading is going to be tied to labor market data going forward.

I want to touch briefly on the uranium market here. We’ve had 5 straight […]

It’s days like today that make the stock market fun. Despite the rather dull trade on the big board, today was full of interesting stories on the bulletin board. If you’re reading the blog for the first time today, I would especially highlight my profile for SCOM.OB this morning. There’s a decent amount of info there to get you started. I want to touch on a number of different stocks, so I’ll run down the list quickly.

OPBL.OB–Despite the recent price […]

This morning I decided to sell my small holding of DYSL.OB and add more shares of BOBS.OB. I have taken a small loss in DYSL.OB. In percentage terms, the loss was approximately 11 percent, although my allocation in this stock was rather small to begin with.

Although I remain positive on the stock long term, I decided to sell the stock for two reasons. First, I thought it lacked a catalyst over the next few weeks, and therefore it is likely […]

This long weekend I took a hard look at all my holdings and decided to add a bit to my position in DYSL. Having studied the chart quite a bit, I believe that profit taking selling pressure has largely abated and that it is poised to move higher. I read their 2006 annual report again, and feel confident that management will be able to integrate recent mergers and come through on their estimate of 40-50% revenue growth in 2007. As […]
